Water infrastructure is a critical component of the health of all communities in the United States. Unfortunately, much of the water infrastructure supporting our communities is failing due to lack of investment. Central States Water Resources, Inc. (CSWR) is at the forefront of the water utility industry by bringing solutions to some of the most troubled water infrastructure systems in the United States. CSWR is actively acquiring, renovating, and stabilizing water and wastewater operations in many communities, bringing the infrastructure investment needed to ensure safe, reliable water service toallow communities to thrive. CSWR’s mission is to make safe water resources available to every community in America.

CSWR seeks an interns studying in the vast field of engineering. Although not discipline specific, mechanical, electrical, civil, biological, and chemical are areas of regular involvement at CSWR. The intern will gain exciting real-world engineering experience at a thriving company. The engineering team at CSWR works closely together to bring out of compliant water and wastewater facilities back into compliance through innovation and construction projects. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative.

Major Job Duties

  • Assist in the coordination of improvement project design and construction between outside engineering consultants and contractors
  • Assist with the completion and filing of utility permit transfer documents
  • Assist in the maintaining of utility environmental regulatory filings
  • Assist in the maintaining of utilities in computerized maintenance management
  • Assist in compliance reporting with state regulatory bodies

Position Requirements:

  • Engineering major (not discipline specific)
  • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams

Schedule & Duration

  • Up to 40 hours per week as available
  • Duration: Summer 2024 with potential for a longer internship

Qualifications

  • Must live in the local area during the internship
  • Must be a full-time student
  • 3.0 or higher GPA required
